Da Nang Hosts German Official to Boost Economic Partnerships and Trade

A delegation from Germany led by Bodo Ramelow recently visited Da Nang, Vietnam, with the aim of bolstering cooperation between the Vietnamese city and German entities across various sectors. During the visit, discussions were held with local officials to assess current socio-economic partnerships and to probe avenues for enhanced collaboration, particularly in education, vocational training, technology, investment, and workforce development.

In the meetings, Da Nang representatives expressed a keen interest in expanding collaborations with German regions and institutions. They highlighted specific areas such as human resource development, vocational education, and German language training as fields ripe for increased partnership. The city also welcomed further German investment, particularly in sectors like high-tech industries, semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation.

Ramelow emphasized vocational education as a significant opportunity for cooperation, suggesting the development of joint training programs that could provide graduates with qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. He stressed the importance of strengthening business ties and creating new avenues for investment, underscoring the potential benefits for both regions.

The visit served to reaffirm the strong ties between Germany and Da Nang, with Germany being one of the city’s key European partners. Their cooperation extends across a wide range of areas, including trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. Both sides reiterated their commitment to expanding economic and institutional partnerships further.
