China-Germany Boost Economic Ties Through Enhanced Business and Technology Collaboration

by admin477351

In a move to bolster business and technological ties, China and Germany are now engaging in a mutually beneficial exchange of expertise and innovation, as highlighted in a recent joint research report presented in Beijing. This shift marks a departure from the earlier trend where the flow of knowledge primarily traveled from Germany to China. The findings were shared at the China-Germany (China-Europe) Hidden Champions Forum 2026, an event that brought together over 400 business leaders and representatives from both regions in Beijing’s Shunyi district.

The research indicates a growing interest among European firms in expanding their operations within China. Specifically, 38 percent of surveyed companies from Europe have expressed intentions to increase their research and development investments in the Chinese market. Moreover, 40 percent of these firms plan to grant their Chinese subsidiaries greater operational autonomy, reducing their dependence on German headquarters.

Meanwhile, Chinese companies are also making significant inroads into Germany, particularly in the electric vehicle sector. Prominent Chinese brands like Li Auto and NIO have established research and design centers in Germany, underscoring the burgeoning technological collaboration between the two nations.

The forum in Beijing also saw the introduction of a public service station aimed at assisting businesses in overcoming technical trade barriers. Additionally, a new partnership initiative was launched, encouraging German and European companies to engage with Beijing’s economic and technological cooperation zone in Shunyi.

According to Tang Wenhong, Beijing is committed to enhancing cooperation between Chinese and German enterprises. The city plans to attract more innovative companies to solidify its reputation as a global hub for science and technology. This strategic effort is expected to further amplify the collaborative dynamic between these two major economies.
