President Donald Trump is keeping the pressure on global trade partners by announcing another wave of letters related to revised tariffs. A minimum of seven countries will receive these letters on Wednesday morning, with more to follow throughout the day.
This follows Tuesday’s dramatic move, where 14 nations were slapped with new tariff notices ranging between 25% and 40%. Trump’s administration has made it clear that these tariffs are non-negotiable unless new trade deals are struck.
The president, speaking during a dinner engagement with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, celebrated finalized agreements with China and the UK, and signaled that a deal with India is nearing conclusion.
Trump has set a hard deadline of August 1, pushing it back from the previous July 9 cutoff. “No extensions will be granted,” he warned, making it clear that enforcement will begin immediately after the deadline passes.
