Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is the First Superhero Film Whose Trailer Has Crossed 1 Billion Views

by admin477351

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved something no superhero film has ever done before — and no film of any kind, for that matter. The trailer for Tom Holland’s latest MCU adventure crossed one billion views in just four days after its March 17 release, becoming the first movie promotional video in history to reach that milestone. For the Spider-Man franchise, it is the ultimate pre-release statement of global relevance.

The scale of the achievement is best understood through comparison. Deadpool & Wolverine had the previous superhero record with 365 million first-day views. Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s trailer had previously held the crown at 355.5 million. Grand Theft Auto VI, from outside the superhero space, had drawn 475 million views on day one. Brand New Day collected 718.6 million in 24 hours, leaving them all at a considerable distance.

WaveMetrix data showed a cumulative total of 1.1 billion by Tuesday, confirming the historic first. The figure makes Brand New Day the most-watched movie trailer of all time, not just among superhero films but across all of cinema. Analysts are now projecting opening weekend figures that could make it one of the highest-grossing superhero films ever made when it hits theatres July 31.

The story previewed in the trailer is one that fans have waited for since No Way Home‘s devastating final moments. Peter Parker, completely unknown to MJ and Ned after the world’s memory of him was erased, continues to protect New York in obscurity. His search for meaning and support leads him to Bruce Banner/Hulk, and his battle with a new villain promises an evolution that will define his character for years to come.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. Indian audiences will experience it in six languages across all premium formats from July 31.
