Unveiled at the IFA Berlin 2026, Singapore-based health technology firm Actxa has launched the Spark Band, a novel screenless wearable device that seamlessly integrates various health and fitness tracking capabilities. The wristband, designed for continuous use throughout the day and night, combines sleep, activity, recovery, and heart health monitoring with Actxa’s unique non-invasive glucose awareness technology. Central to this is the BGEM technology, which enables the AI Glucose Snapshot feature. This function offers users an estimated glucose range and an indicative value within that range in about a minute, aimed at promoting general wellness rather than serving as a diagnostic tool.

The Spark Band allows users to capture glucose snapshots at various times, such as before and after meals, to discern glucose-related trends over time. Actxa emphasizes that the device is meant to help users understand these trends in conjunction with other health and lifestyle data, rather than fixating on individual readings. In addition to glucose awareness, the device boasts a comprehensive suite of health tracking features accessible via the Actxa app. These include monitoring sleep stages, calculating sleep scores, and providing overnight signals. The recovery function assesses sleep heart rate variability against the user’s personal seven-day baseline, offering a 30-day recovery trend.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Spark Band tracks movement and intensity minutes, supplying insights related to workouts, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age. Its Target Heart Rate Zone feature uses LED lights and vibrations to alert users when they enter their chosen training zone, eliminating the need for a screen. Designed to minimize notifications and visual distractions, the device uses LED signals and vibrations for alerts such as movement reminders and wake-up alarms. Weighing approximately 22 grams, the band is equipped with a zinc-alloy casing and a soft nylon braided strap, rated for up to 14 days of battery life and capable of storing up to seven days of data. It is water-resistant and supports Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, compatible with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 15.6 or later.

Available for pre-order starting September 24, 2026, at a price of SGD 199 / USD 149, the Spark Band is set to launch officially on November 18, 2026. The device will initially be available in select markets across the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Actxa plans to offer promotional discounts during the pre-order phase, with a 40% early-bird discount from September 24 to October 31, followed by a 20% discount from November 1 to 17, and a limited-time 10% launch offer after the official release.
