After Mass Walkout, Netanyahu Delivers Ultimatum to Hamas at UN

by admin477351

Speaking to a sparsely populated UN General Assembly after a mass diplomatic walkout, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a clear ultimatum to Hamas. He demanded the group lay down its arms, release all 48 remaining hostages, and surrender, warning, “If you don’t, Israel will hunt you down.”
The threat was a key part of a speech that defied international pressure on multiple fronts. Over 100 diplomats from more than 50 nations had already left the room in protest, a stark illustration of Israel’s isolation over its nearly two-year war in Gaza and its opposition to a two-state solution.
Netanyahu labeled the recent recognition of a Palestinian state by several Western nations as “sheer madness,” arguing it would be a reward for the October 7 attacks. He vowed that Israel would not follow this path, calling it “insane.”
He also promised to continue the military offensive against what he called the “final remnants of Hamas” in Gaza City. This pledge came as new reports of civilian casualties emerged from the region, adding to the urgency of international calls for a ceasefire that Netanyahu continues to ignore.
